I'm changing out my shocks for Tokicos, and when I reinstalled my first shock, I noticed that the bottom of the dust boot looks all torn up and the dust boot only goes half way down the shock. I had my springs changed before by a shop and I'm wondering if they tore the boots in half or if that's the way they come... I've found all sorts of screwed up crap that the shop did to my car before I figured that I would start working on it myself... I'm thinking that maybe once I stick them back on my car that that'll compress the spring/shock and allow the boot to cover the whole exposed area... is this right? it sure as hell doesn't look like it's going to do much protection the way it is now. Also, the spring protecting condom things (they slip onto the spring and protect the shock) on the very top and bottom of the spring have the back of them cut out... is this how they're supposed to be or should they be complete all the way around like a condom?
